Who We Are
The ESSECHedge Fund
The ESSEC Hedge Fund (EHF) is a student-led investment fund operating within ESSEC Business School's Asia-Pacific campus in Singapore. The fund functions as a structured portfolio simulation designed to mirror institutional standards of governance, research discipline, and committee-based decision-making.
EHF is composed of students with a strong academic and professional interest in asset management, financial markets, and macroeconomics. Through a formal investment process, members engage in macroeconomic analysis, security research, and portfolio construction within a benchmark-relative framework.
Governance
Committee-based, benchmark-relative.
Decisions are made through a formal Investment Committee rather than by any single member. Proposals move from research to debate to vote, and every position is sized and risk-checked before inclusion.
The fund is run against a defined benchmark, so performance is always measured relative to the market rather than in isolation. This benchmark-relative discipline keeps research honest and accountability clear.
Investment Committee
A standing committee reviews trading volume, market capitalisation, and core fundamentals before any position is approved.
Benchmark-Relative
Every decision is judged against a defined benchmark — process and accountability over outcome.
Risk-First
Downside risk, liquidity, and portfolio interaction are evaluated before inclusion, not after.
